Welcome to the Wish List

Chances are your closets, basement and attic are filled with things you no longer use. Nonprofit organizations in San Mateo County need some of those things. So why not do a quick search on the Community Wish List and find someone who will put your discarded items to good use?

Although the Peninsula is an affluent area, life is not easy for many people who live here. Nor is it an easy time for the nonprofit organizations in our county, many of which have reduced funding due to government cuts.

By browsing the Community Wish List, you’ll be amazed at how many good people are providing excellent services in our county. You can do a quick search to see which ones need an item you would like to give away.

Local organizations are seeking items ranging from batteries to bicycles and from cleaning products to computers.

All of these organizations would welcome the gift of your time, too. Don’t be shy. Pick up the phone and ask, “How can I help?”

By working together, we all benefit by making our county a better place to live.

How the Wish List Works

The idea behind the Community Wish List is simple. Instead of asking for checks, local nonprofit organizations have listed items they would like donated in order to serve the community better. People find pleasure in giving gifts to others—particularly things that might go to waste. Donors can claim a tax deduction on their taxes for contributions, too, to the extent they are legally tax-deductible.
